Getting to Mammoth Lakes

  • Reno (RNO) - 3 hour drive

  • Bay Area (SFO, OAK, SJC) - 6 hour drive

  • Los Angeles (LAX) - 5 hour

Rental cars should be rented at the airport of arrival and returned to a Bay Area Airport at the time of departure.It is recommended to drive in the daylight on the way to Mammoth and back to avoid any hazardous road conditions.The Nikkah ceremony will be held at the top of the mountain at 6:00 PM and dinner will be at McCoy Station from 6:30-10 PM.The reception on Saturday will be held in the Bay Area so we will all drive back to the Bay Area the day after the Nikkah.Sample itinerary if flying:

  • May 10th - Fly into RNO. Drive to Mammoth. Check-in to Mammoth Mountain Inn or The Village.

  • May 11th - Nikkah @ 6 PM

  • May 12th - Check out from Mammoth hotel. Drive to Bay Area. Check in at Fremont Marriott.

  • May 13th - Reception @ 630 PM

Important Information

Our wedding will be at 10,000 feet above sea level which means the air is thinner and drier. It is very important to STAY HYDRATED leading up to the wedding and to bring lotion and lip balm to deal with the drier mountain air.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE ON THE MOUNTAIN?May is the shoulder season at Mammoth so it will still be cold but not winter cold. Temperatures will be around 30-40° F so make sure to bring warm clothes!WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
Since it will be cold, dress warm! For men, suits with an extra layer or two underneath should be plenty warm. For women, thicker material (like velvet) for your desi attire is going to be better. Make sure to bring a change of flat, covered shoes for the ceremony at the top of the mountain (heels are not recommended as they tend to sink in the snow and there are walkways with large holes in the ground--but you are more than welcome to change back into them at the reception)!What else is there to do in Mammoth?
